Universal Peace Federation’s Principles of Peace
📅 2 November 2024 | 🏛️ 43 Lancaster Gate, London, W2 3NA
The Universal Peace Federation UK (UPF-UK) convened an inspirational programme on the Principles of Peace, exploring the visionary foundations of UPF’s peacebuilding philosophy. The event was held at UPF-UK Headquarters in London with in-person and online participation from across the UK and abroad.
🌍 Exploring UPF’s Vision
The programme reflected on the core ideals of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), first presented at its founding in 2005 by Father and Mother Moon. These principles of peace highlight the transformative power of viewing humanity as “one family under God” – interdependent, united, and rooted in shared values.
🎓 Teaching and Reflection
The seminar was led by Rev. Dr. David Hanna, UPF North Region President, who provided deep insights into the co-founders’ vision and its relevance in addressing today’s global challenges. He emphasised how peace education, interfaith dialogue, and moral leadership can inspire a more just and harmonious society.
Participants engaged in group discussions, interactive reflection, and testimonies, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn, share, and network. The hybrid format allowed for wider international participation, underlining UPF’s global mission to advance interfaith harmony, conflict resolution, and sustainable peace.
Conclusion
The Principles of Peace programme reaffirmed UPF’s mission of promoting interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values. By cultivating understanding and cooperation, the event highlighted the urgent need to embed these values in education, governance, and community life as a pathway to peace.
